88% of the Lafayette College respondents say that “value and respect for degree” has significant or critical impact on their opinion of their alma mater. This is further defined by:

  • History/tradition
  • Providing financial aid and Scholarships
  • School rankings (e.g. U.S. News & World Report)
  • Accomplishments of students

The most important communication topics are “Alumni stories, news, and achievements, including class notes and in memoriam notices,” “Campus news” and “Programs and events for alumni.”

Older alumni found every form of communication’s effectiveness to exceed importance. This was not true for younger alumni, where the effectiveness is not holding up to importance for “Programs and events for alumni,” and “News about my major or concentration.”
